Meet Your Instructor
Hello! I am Gina Dargan, the creator and artist of Fibers and Design.
In 2019 I created Fibers and Design to teach beginners weaving basics and to encourage people to be creative. In 2021 I launched the Fibers and Design Learning Platform to teach more in depth lessons about modern weaving techniques.
The Beginner Weaver eCourse is a great start for beginner weavers and the fiber art curious. The projects explore various design elements that are easy to follow while also teaching new weavers how to problem solve and design sections on their own.
I hope that you will enjoy weaving the projects while developing your understanding of weaving and strengthening your skills. Thank you for supporting Fibers and Design and allowing me to be part of your creative journey.
eCourse Learning Structure
3 Steps to Learning How to Weave!
Pattern/ Technique Introduction
A handful of techniques and patterns are introduced and used in each project of the course. Step-by-step learn how to create and troubleshoot these designs techniques in each project.
Once you learn how to do project techniques and patterns, practice creating them in a project sample. Sampling is a great tool used by weavers and artist across various mediums- testing design elements such as yarns, color palettes and techniques is an important step to developing your creative muscle.
Now that you have a handle on the project techniques and patterns, it’s time to start weaving the larger project. Combine all the skills learned in the sampling practice step into a cohesive woven composition.
